Irish typing test: questions and answers
What is a good Irish typing speed? +
For most people 25 to 35 words per minute in Irish is a solid everyday speed, 40+ is fast, and office or exam jobs often ask for 25 to 40 WPM. Accuracy above 95% matters more than raw speed.
Do I need a Irish keyboard to take this test? +
No. Choose a built-in Irish keyboard in the test and every key types the right Irish character, even on an English keyboard.
How is Irish typing speed measured? +
Every five correctly typed characters (key presses, including spaces) count as one word. Uncorrected mistakes are not counted, and accuracy shows how many key presses were right the first time.

Learn to touch type with the Irish lessons, practise 10 minutes a day, and keep your eyes on the screen. Your dashboard shows the keys you miss most so you can drill them.
