Slow is smooth, smooth is fast
Every mistake costs you three times: the wrong key, the backspace, and the right key again. That's why the fastest typists are also the most accurate ones. Most of them sit at 97% or higher.
Slow down to speed up
For this course, type at a speed where you make almost no mistakes, even if it feels slow. A clean, even rhythm builds the finger memory that speed grows from. Rushing builds mistakes into your habits.
What these drills train
- Your weakest keys: we track every key you miss. The first drill is built from words with your most-missed characters.
- Double letters: a classic source of slips, because fingers rush the second press.
- Long words: they test whether your fingers know the whole word, not just its start.
When you do make a mistake
Notice which finger slipped. Was it reaching too far, or the wrong finger altogether? Your dashboard shows a heat map of your weak keys, so check it after a few sessions.
